Development Training

Six persons were trained on communication for behavioural change (BCC) in the fight against HIV and aids organized by Geneva Global in 2010.

Twenty-five women were trained on how to do prevention program against HIV and Aids, counselling and voluntary counselling and testing (VCT) in 2010. Subsequently, 10 women held sensitization campaigns in Samo and Yaou, in Sud Comoe region of Cote d’Ivoire and impacted over 50 people who accepted to do their tests to know their HIV status.

The Treasurer benefited from a 6-month finance training while the assistant treasurer and auditor were trained on general accounting.

Two members of FEMDEV were trained on environmental care by TEAR Fund-UK in September 2011 and on Community mobilization against poverty in January 2012.

More than 500 girls benefited from life skill education

Visit To Orphanages And Prison

...

Visits to orphanages, some that house handicapped children.

Sharing of food, drinks, detergents, washing liquids, biscuits.

Maintenance repairs to orphanage bathrooms and kitchen.

Formal, informal education and computer literacy.

Donation of books, food items, clothes, shoes, and electronic devices to the prisoners for their education, entertainment and relaxation.

Scholarship Programs

With limited resources, FEMDEV started a scholarship program to support orphans and children of single parents who are quite many in our target community.

Scholarships to learn manual skills such as tailoring and hair dressing.

Sponsorships of various youth, children of single parents and widows to pay school fees.

Driving lessons for out-of-school youth and women.
