(Les Femmes en Mission pour le Developpement – Women with a mission for development)

group of girls

About Us

We are a group of development agents made up of mostly women and youth who build the capacity of women, youth and girls and equip them towards their own development and their own communities. The girl child is included having been rendered vulnerable by the community in which they live. Members are from various walks of life with the same burden and vision to fight against poverty, diseases, illiteracy, food insecurity and early marriages. The name FEMDEV was coined from Les Femmes en mission pour le Developpement which simply means women with a vision for development. It is an NGO started in 2006 but registered in 2008 in Abidjan, Cote d’Ivoire with the goal of replicability in other countries.

FEMDEV empowers women and girls to get involved in their own community’s development.
